Nutritional Medicine - Let Foods be Thy Medicine

"Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food." --Hippocrates (460-377 B.C.)

Most illness and disease is preventable simply by eating a balanced wholefood diet.

Some illness and disease is reversible by eating a balanced wholefood diet.

Most illness and disease is reversible by eating a balanced wholefood diet and paying special attention to any deficiencies that have occurred, together with whatever naturopathic remedies that may be indicated.

There will always be accidents, but good food and naturopathic methods can also help in these cases. The aim for every individual should be to strengthen their immune systems, thus illness and disease will be avoided or minimised.

Care must be taken with substances that are applied to the body or inhaled, such as hair dyes, lotions and bleaches, ointments, make up, prescribed and leisure drugs, washing powders, hair spray, chemical perfumes, household cleaners, soap, talcum powder, petrol and other fumes etc.

As illness and disease increase, people develop problems which disrupt the correct functioning of the body; this weakness can then be passed on to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by way of congenital birth defects and weaknesses.

Some illness and disease is environmentally engineered because of chemical waste, polluted water supplies, nuclear power stations, general pollution and so on. Until this situation can be rectified we must battle against this as well. I do not want to frighten anyone; I just wish to give clear information on natural methods, which will not add to the present toxic loading of the body, unlike many prescription drugs.

WE HAVE TO CHANGE OUR PRIORITIES; WE MUST CONCENTRATE ON PREVENTION RATHER THAN 'CURE'. THIS MEANS BUILDING UP AND MAINTAINING A STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM. IT IS TIME FOR ALL TO REALISE THAT GOOD NOURISHING FOOD, WITHOUT THE RUBBISH AND POISONS THAT ARE ADDED BY THE GROWERS AND FOOD MANUFACTURERS, IS THE WAY WE HAVE TO GO. STRESS, LACK OF EXERCISE, PRESCRIBED AND LEISURE DRUGS (including tobacco), can unbalance the system which will THEN put the individual on the downward path of continued ill health.

Many people may not feel really ill, BUT are not really well. This is often accepted as a sign of getting old. There is no need to feel this way. O.K. your body no doubt will start to wear out when you reach your 70s or 80s, any earlier, unless you have been injured in an accident, or have inherited a congenital weakness, IS FRANKLY AVOIDABLE.

Eating correctly from the start is the best solution. Changing incorrect eating patterns at any stage will always be beneficial. But what does eating correctly mean? The guidelines that follow will help. Please remember that we are all different, there may well be some whole natural foods that may not suit you, if this is so just leave them alone.

Having said that you may well find that once you have unblocked your system, and are eating for health, you can take back some, if not all of these natural foods.

You may ask 'just who am I to tell you what is right?' Well I am someone who has managed to do most things wrong, for myself, and my children, because I did not know any different. However I have spent 30 years looking for this knowledge, and of course I still do not know it all. What I have learnt has so horrified me that I must pass it on. I will continue this search because I want, and need, to find the answers, especially for myself and my children.

EDUCATION NOT MEDICATION.

Illness and disease are just a collection of symptoms which have been given a name by the medical profession. The same illness or disease in several individuals can have several different causes. Some illnesses are easily misdiagnosed in the rush to find a suitable label. A naturopath will take account of the whole person and not just the symptoms being presented.
